13 treated for injuries after Palm Tran bus, pickup truck collide

Thirteen people were treated for injuries, including two children, after an accident involving a pickup truck and a Palm Tran bus Monday morning.

The vehicles collided at Southern Boulevard and D Road in Loxahatchee at about 6:45 a.m. and caused major traffic backups.

Driver Killed, 4 Injured When Car Crashes Into North Miami Beach Nursing Home

An out-of-control car went airborne and slammed into a North Miami Beach nursing home early Wednesday, killing the driver and sending four people to the hospital. The incident happened shortly before 2 a.m. when the red Honda hit a sidewalk, went airborne and crashed into the second floor of the Watercrest Care Center at 16650 West Dixie Highway.

Adrenaline Pumping Crane Rescue

In May 2006, a Link-Belt crane was setting pilings for a sea wall in West Palm Beach’s (Florida) downtown waterfront. The 105,000-lb, machine was hoisting a 3-foot by 3-foot, 30foot long cement piling weighing 18,000 lbs, when it rumbled across an area undermined by sea water. The vibration and weight collapsed the walkway, sending the crane crushing through the concrete.
